ЕГЭ по английскому, устная часть, задание 2 – прямые вопросы
Сущность второго задания устной части ЕГЭ по английскому языку заключается в том, чтобы правильно задать прямые вопросы. Вам предложена ситуация (открытие пункта проката велосипедов, языковой школы и т.п.), в которой от вас требуется как бы позвонить требуемую организацию и выяснить дополнительную информацию, задав ряд вопросов. Вопросы должны быть прямыми и иметь правильную грамматическую форму.
Постановка вопросов – это задание базового уровня, и здесь, казалось бы, не должны возникать трудности, но, к сожалению, примерно половина сдающих ЕГЭ проваливают это задание. Сейчас мы разберемся, почему так происходит и что с этим делать?
Возьмем реальный пример экзаменационного задания, в котором требуется позвонить в новый пункт проката велосипедов (bicycle rental) и выяснить следующее:
1) location
2) opening hours
3) rental price for adults’ and children’s bicycles
4) family discounts
5) possibility to rent a helmet
Прежде всего, необходимо помнить, что это задание – имитация реального общения. Самое главное – задать вопрос без искажения смысла.
ПЕРВЫЙ вопрос (location) касается месторасположения пункта проката. Этот вопрос повторяется из года в год, так что учительскому сообществу давно пора было бы научить своих подопечных правильно его задавать, используя конструкция be located / situated. Вот приемлемые варианты:
Where is your bicycle rental located?
Where is the bicycle rental located?
Where is your rental located?
и т.д.
Теперь взглянем на реальные примеры неправильных вариантов:
Where is it located?
Вариант грамматически правильный, но, будучи заданным в качестве первого вопроса в пункте проката, вводит собеседника в недоумение – нахождение какого именно объекта хочет выяснить спрашивающий? В первом вопросе необходимо четко называть ту организацию, которая указана в задании.
Where is bicycle rental located?
Выражение bicycle rental употреблено само по себе в абстрактном смысле, и не понятно какой именно пункт проката имеется в виду.
Where your bicycle rental is located?
Здесь имеет место неправильный порядок слов вопросительного предложения.
Where is your shop located?
Вопрос не засчитывается из-за подмены понятий: shop – это магазин, т.е. место, где вам навсегда отдают какую-то вещь за деньги. А rental – пункт проката, т.е. место выдачи вещи на время.
What are the opening hours?
When are you open?
и др.
Теперь назовем типичные ошибки:
What are opening hours?
Перед фразой opening hours нет никакого определяющего слова, поэтому непонятно, какие именно opening hours имеются в виду. Фраза имеет абстрактный характер, а нам необходима конкретика – часы работы пункта проката.
When do you work?
Вопрос грамматически правильный, но содержательно неверный. Непонятно, чем конкретно интересуется клиент: по каким дням работает прокат, работает ли прокат круглый год или только лето и т.п. Вопрос слишком широк и не конкретен.
When do you open?
Этот вопрос слишком узок; дословно он переводится “Когда вы открываетесь?” А часы закрытия остаются невыясненными. Таким образом, такой вопрос тоже не засчитывается. Вот если бы к нему добавить слово close (закрываться), то тогда вопрос был бы зачтен: When do you open and close?
ТРЕТИЙ вопрос (rental price for adults’ and children’s bicycles) касается цены проката взрослых и детских велосипедов. Возможны следующие правильные варианты:
What is the rental price for adults’ and children’s bicycles?
How much does it cost to rent adults’ and children’s bicycles?
Типичны следующие ошибки:
What rental price is for adults’ and children’s bicycles?
Вопрос формально имеет правильныю граммтическую форму, но дает непонимаемое содержание.
How much is the price for adults’ and children’s bicycles?
Вопрос неверен, так как мы не можем по отношению к слову price применять much.
ЧЕТВЕРТЫЙ вопрос (family discounts) нацелен на выяснение возможности получить скидки на семью. Вопрос также традиционен, поэтому надо заучить шаблон для его задавания. Вот правильные варианты:
Are there any discounts for families?
Do you give any discounts for families?
и др.
Самая частая ошибка здесь следующая:
Is there discounts for families?
ЧЕТВЕРТЫЙ вопрос (possibility to rent a helmet) направлен на выяснение возможности взять напрокат шлем. Следует запомнить, что если в задании есть слово possibility, то чаще всего применим шаблон Is it possible to…? или Can I …?
Is it possible to rent a helmet?
Can I rent a helmet?
При построении этого вопроса ошибки могут быть многочисленными, например такая:
Rent a helmet possible?
Это вообще не вопрос, поэтому данное высказывание не засчитывается.
В заключение статьи хотелось бы еще раз напомнить, что вопросы, начинающиеся с What about…? и How about…? не принимаются. Также не принимаются вопросы, начинающиеся с Could you… и не имеющие во второй части полного предложения. Например:
Could you tell me your location?
Could you tell me the price of your bicycles?
Однако, если во второй части таких вопросов имеется полное предложение, то тогда они засчитываются как правильные:
Could you tell me where your rental is located?
Could you tell me how much your adults’ and children’s bicycles cost?

Task 1. Imagine that you are preparing a project with your friend. You have found some interesting material for the presentation and you want to read this text to your friend. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it.
Many lands that had once been swamps were drained or filled in. There are different reasons why people drained swamplands. Some were drained to fight diseases caused by insects that lived in them. Because swamps were considered unpleasant places in which to live and harmful to health, many people thought that unless they were drained the land was worthless.
Other swamps were drained to make new land. As the population grew and more land was needed, people drained swamps or filled them to make room for more farms and factories, more roads and airports.
Few people thought that it might be harmful to get rid of swamps. As swamps disappeared, other things happened. There were both more floods and more droughts than before. There were also more fires, for swamps had acted as firebreaks. Hunters noticed that there was less wild game. Wild life that once lived in the swamps was dying out, because it had no place to live.

Task 2. Study the advertisement.
You are going to visit Japan this summer and you’d like to have more information about the flights to Japan. In 1.5 minutes you are to ask five questions to find out the following:
1) departure dates
2) travel time
3) return ticket price
4) discounts for students
5) buying the ticket online

Task 3. Imagine that you are showing pictures of your pets to your friend. Choose one photo to present to your friend. You will have to start speaking in 1.5 minutes and will speak for not more than 2 minutes. You have to talk continuously. In your talk remember to speak about:
•when you took the photo
•what/who is in the photo
•what is happening
•why you took the photo
•why you decided to show the picture to your friend
Don’t forget to start with “I have chosen photo number ….”

To begin with, people keep pets for different reasons. They make our lives more exciting and become the members of our family. They can also be our closest friends forever.
I took this photo last summer in our country house. We have got several pets and this dog is among them. All our pets are friendly and cute creatures.
Let me tell you a few words about this photo. In the background you can see a wonderful Russian landscape. In the foreground there is a wonderful lawn framed with lovely birches and bushes. In the centre you can see my elder sister Sveta and our dog Snowflake. We called him so because he is as white and fluffy as snow.
The weather is fine, sunny and warm. Snowflake likes to go for a walk very much. In the photo Sveta is telling him something to keep him calm. You can’t see me as I am taking the photo.
Taking this photo I wanted to start a collection of our pets’ pictures and to display it on the wall in our living room. Besides, the photos will always remind us of our pets.
I decided to show this picture to you because you told me a lot about your dog. Now it’s my turn to give you the first impression of my pet. Isn’t he friendly and cute?
I believe when you come to our place , Snowflake will accept you as his best friend.
That is all I wanted to tell you about this photo.

In our modern world some jobs are very important for our society.
Here are two pictures to compare and contrast on the topic. This is a photo of a man doing his job outside and that is a photo of a policeman standing on the side of the road.
These two pictures show jobs and this is the first similarity. The people in both pictures are wearing uniforms , and that is also what these pictures have in common. The weather is rather warm.
However, pictures are somehow different. The main difference is that in picture one we can see a worker , while in picture two there is a traffic policeman. Also, their actions are different: the worker is paving a sidewalk and the policeman is on duty watching the traffic on the road.
As far as I am concerned, the job of a traffic policeman (cop) is more important for the society because people of this profession are responsible for our safety and order on the roads. Besides, they control all drivers to keep and obey traffic rules. It is very important for all drivers and passengers’ lives.

The Hunger Games is a book by the American author Suzanne Collins. It was published in 2008 and has sold millions of copies. It is the first book for young readers to sell a million electronic books and you can buy it in 26 different languages. The Hunger Games is now a very successful film. It made 152.5 million dollars in its first weekend in North America!
One night in 2003, Suzanne Collins was watching TV. It was at the time of the US invasion of Iraq. The only programmes she could find on TV were ‘reality’ programmes of young people competing to win a million dollars and news programmes about the war. Suzanne says that the two things started to mix together in her head and she had the idea for The Hunger Games.

You know, we often make projects at school. I like this type of work because we have to find out and study different interesting topics. The last one was connected with jobs.
I took this photo last year when my family and I were travelling to our country house by the electric train. I was very excited when an old man, a ticket collector, entered the wagon. It was just the proper episode for my project.
The photo shows a ticket collector. In the background you can see the wagon of the electric train and a lot of passengers. The man is rather old, maybe he is a pensioner. He is wearing a uniform: a dark grey jacket t with a yellow emblem of the Russian Railway on his chest. On his head he has a uniform cap. The man looks very serious and generous. He is checking the passengers travel tickets. It seems to me, he loves his job and the passengers respect him very much.
I took this photo for several reasons. Firstly, it was really perfect to use in my project. Besides, I was struck to see such an elderly man doing his job. Also, I wanted to show the photo to my grandfather who thinks he can’t find a job because of his age.
I decided to show this photo to you because I wanted to get your advice and opinion if this photo matches the topic of my project or not. I am waiting for your answer.
That’s all I wanted to tell you about this photo.

Our lifestyle has changed greatly in the recent years. People now have a chance to buy different clothes in small and big shops. These two photos are the evidence of what I have said.
Both pictures show people walking in the shopping areas. The first photo depicts a woman standing between shopping rows of counters, whereas in the second one you can see a man walking with his purchases to his car. The pictures are quite similar. In both of them we can see the places to shop. Besides, the pictures were taken during the daytime. Similarly, the weather in both pictures is welcoming.
However, while the first picture shows the market in the open air, the second one presents a big area of the shopping centre. Comparing these two pictures, I would like to stress out that in picture one there are many people choosing and buying goods. In picture two there is only one man, from my perspective, he has already bought things he needs and is going home with big bags.
As far as I am concerned, I would prefer to shop for clothes in big shopping malls where I can find clothes of designer labels and different brands. For me, quality and design are more important. As for the goods from China, which are sold at the markets, I just don’t trust them.

C 2016 года обязательной частью ЕГЭ по английскому языку стала разговорная часть или говорение. В этой статье мы расскажем вам, как успешно сдать эту часть, и что необходимо, чтобы получить за неё максимальные 20 баллов. Также мы расскажем вам о критериях оценки этой части и подводных камнях, которые могут встретиться во время экзамена.

The first maps were drawn by explorers to help them find their way home and show people where they had been. The maps showed the shape of the land, distances between places and special features such as caves and old trees. Nowadays, maps show the towns and villages, and the roads, railways, rivers and mountains. Symbols are used to show all the different things on a map and there is a key to explain what the symbols stand for.
Over the centuries, people explored most of the Earth and put together the map of the world we use today. Maps of the world or large areas are often either “political” or “physical”. The political map shows territorial borders. The purpose of the physical map is to show features of geography such as mountains, soil type or land use including roads, railroads and buildings.

Many lands that had once been swamps were drained or filled in. There are different reasons why people drained swamplands. Some were drained to fight diseases caused by insects that lived in them. Because swamps were considered unpleasant places in which to live and harmful to health, many people thought that unless they were drained the land was worthless.
Other swamps were drained to make new land. As the population grew and more land was needed, people drained swamps or filled them to make room for more farms and factories, more roads and airports.
Few people thought that it might be harmful to get rid of swamps. As swamps disappeared, other things happened. There were both more floods and more droughts than before. There were also more fires, for swamps had acted as firebreaks. Hunters noticed that there was less wild game. Wild life that once lived in the swamps was dying out, because it had no place to live.

As soon as spring brings a new growth of bushes and berries, bears start feeding. They eat and eat. All through the spring and summer their feeding goes on. The bears build themselves up. They store food and fats that they will need in the fall when they start their long sleep.
As days grow shorter, and the temperature begins to fall, bears hunt for a sleeping place. It may be a shallow cave, or a deep crack between rocks. Some bears end up sleeping in hollow logs. Logs seem to be bears’ favourite places. Bears seem to choose small spaces. They can keep warmer in a cave that’s just large enough to hold them than in a larger cave. They often line their sleeping place with leaves and dried grass.

A hobby is the easiest way to restore your balance whenever you are over-worked or stressed. Since it is an activity of your choosing, it will always give you pleasure and help you to relax. Even if you indulge in your hobby for a short period of time, you still can feel the difference in your energy level and spirit. When you have a hobby, you will always find time for it.
